DIRECTOR'S JOURNAL
DAYS 1-5
DAY ONE: "Let's Get It!"
Call to set - 9:00am ET
Pulled from sleep for the 3rd time at 7:45am in anticipation of the first day of filming my first feature length movie. Looking forward to toasting to the completion of what I predict to be a creative, hard worked , and FUN project. A mix of some of my inspiration music blasts in the backdrop as I update the latest info on all the social networks TSARS is linked to.
Today should be smooth, due to the awesome production team, whom which is more family than coworkers. I wouldn't want to delve into this project with any other group of people.
We've come far, and the building only grows as time moves.
Well, my ride will be here in ten minutes. Got time for a health-sapped non-nutritious breakfast though. . . off to set!!

DAY TWO: "O' Captain, My Captain". . ."Our Team"
Call to set - 3:00pm ET
Got to sleep in a bit. The day was really productive due to some awesome scheduling by the production/unit manager (Jay Schroeder). We all should be so lucky. Halfway into the film day we broke for some foods. It was then that I took a moment and looked around at the people I was dining with.
I took a moment to realize and understand how fortunate myself and all of us are to have been able to find each other in these stages of growth. Not often do I see this size a team of people with equal passions driving toward one goal not only working together, but also who are friends and family. I know they are out there, but I still feel thankful.
At the end of the night while I making back-ups for the footage I was truly impressed by these talented folks I am working with. Dreaming with. I've told them before, and I will continue to:
I wouldn't want to be building this, going through this, making this happen, with any other group of people.
Until next week. See yall on Day Three.

DAY THREE: "You've Got Something On Your Lip" (Enter C-Lip Girl)
Call to set - 9:30am
Through the NIGHT shadow, the buckets of rain pouring, the lighting flickering, and the rumble of thunder and whine of family pets, we pulled of a DAY time scene!
Joined by Claire Dempsey [aka C-Lip Girl], shooting the scenes were very smooth. This young lady, whether in her Blue hair or Purple and Red dyes with dark eyes shadows for the character, has a natural flow with her craft of choice. Claire’s off camera quick-wit and understanding kept everyone in a comfortable zone. (That is until the infamous “pizza pockets”!) Speaking for the crew and cast of TSARS today, we all look forward to working with Claire again. Thank you very much for being a warrior on set C-Lip Girl! ^_^
Day 3 was a test under pressure. The few things that held up production were demolished by yet again a relentless creative and talented team.
XOCHITL WE WILL MISS YOU UNTIL YOU'RE RETURN!!! HAVE FUN! WE LOVE YOU!!
Day 4 starting 11am!

DAY FOUR: ". . . As The Day You Were Born"
Call to set - 11:00am
Over the dirt hill and into the woods we went. And I forgot to switch out my new sneakers for my old ones. Oh well. Quite the sacrifice for the crazy shots we got this day. These guys are great. I am grateful.
We all left the woods with the great shots we were looking for. No bumps. No bruises (except maybe a couple bruised egos… maybe).
Day 4 also seemed to move fast, and at the same time it felt as though the hours lasted longer than normal. I say the fun we had in hand with the hard work delivered through fierce scheduling is what was responsible for “time anomaly”. I look forward to the weeks ahead, but not nearly as much as the day when I can do this full time and forever.
After filming a day of:
-running through the thick of the woods and mixing mushrooms and soy sauce (don't ask) to capture a great shot
-recording audio while hanging halfway out of a moving vehicle to capture great sound
-and suffering through a cramped, humid, breath-dampened blanket covering three grown ass men (two of which are half naked) just to get a great angle…
…who would dream of doing anything else?
Live and Love.
(p.s.- We cast the roll of “The Lady” today. Welcome, Brenda Logan!)

DAY FIVE: "Salt Water Solitude"
Call to set - 2:00am
This day was quick. Right off of an 8 ½ hour shift we roll right into a late night audition for the roll of BREEZY, which was effortlessly portrayed by a talented actor/dancer named Joslyn Oberdorf. Welcome to the madness Joslyn! Heheh.
Moments after we had a production meeting for the upcoming day 6 and 7, and then we were on the road heading toward a somewhat vacant highway at 2:00amET. The scene was, to sum up in one word: powerful. Mike Voutsinos did great work pulling up his demons to deliver what I am sure be one the films more memorable moments.
Good Morning all!
